CurrENT is looking for a Communications trainee that is looking to start a career in the field of energy, policy, communications, or European affairs. CurrENT is the European industry association representing innovative grid technology companies.
We want to see a massive uptake in renewables in order to address climate change, while maintaining security of supply, and keeping costs as low as possible. We see electricity power networks at the core of a successful energy transition. We achieve our common goal to speed up the green energy transition through generating awareness, moving policy, enhancing technology, and engaging with stakeholders.
Communications: social media (Twitter, LinkedIn), webpage maintenance, preparation of newsletters.
Events: Organizing webinars on behalf of CurrENT and representing CurrENT at external events.
Monitoring upcoming relevant events, policy developments and organizing meetings with stakeholders.
Support the Secretariat with other tasks necessary for the day-to-day management of a growing energy association.
A full-time, 6 months, ‘convention de immersion professionelle’ (CIP) contract that is remunerated accordingly. Start date early 2025.

Master Student or recent graduate of European affairs, political science, energy, communications or other relevant study fields.
Basic knowledge about European energy and climate policy and relevant energy industry discussions and developments, such as the recent Mario Draghi report on competitiveness, the link between decarbonisation and competition, and the problems facing renewable energy distribution and generation.
Keen to work on topics such as European energy transition, electricity networks, infrastructure development, offshore energy, etc.
Excellent communications skills and an ability to work independently.
Professional proficiency in written and spoken English. Another European language is a plus.
Must be eligible to work in Belgium and be based in Brussels to coordinate with on-site team. Home working of two days a week is possible as well as flexible arrangements available based on discussion.
